Don & Sue’s Patio with a View
CREATING SEPARATION
Don and Sue have a gorgeous property that backs up to a popular Naperville golf course. They found themselves not using their outdoor living space as much as they would have liked because while they loved their view, they wanted a filter from the activity on the course. Now, they spend more time enjoying their yard than ever before!
ENHANCING THE LANDSCAPE
Bringing a Vision to Life
The wide open view and lake behind Don & Sue’s Naperville home is what caused them to fall in love with the property. While the benefits far outweigh the challenges of living adjacent to a golf course, when it came time to update their landscaping, their highest priority was establishing a separation from the activity that takes place throughout the golf season.
The home is built for the view, with two rooms along the back of the home that create a u-shaped patio. The Montano’s Landscaping design team worked with the shape of the home to create a beautiful red brick herringbone paver patio set between two complementary stone paver sections. The middle section ends in a custom stone fire pit that creates the natural boundary Don and Sue wanted, affording them privacy while dining outdoors. Being low to the ground, the fire pit doesn’t compete with the breathtaking view. The two open patio sections provide unique lounging spaces, with one side furnished with Adirondack chairs and the other with chaise lounges. The patio footprint may be modest, but it boasts unmatched functionality.
